Welcome to the Jamaica Lacrosse Alumni Foundation website
The Jamaica Lacrosse Alumni Foundation (JLAF) was created in 2006 to pursue the expansion of Lacrosse in the NY City Public Schools system. This Charitable organization was setup by former player athletes of Jamaica Lacrosse.
Jamaica High’s Lacrosse program was the first Lacrosse program in PSAL sports history. Initiated in 1983, under George Baron and Walter Glenn the program flourished for more than a decade and although now defunct at Jamaica High, the program was the foundation for other PSAL school lacrosse programs. Our dedicated group of directors have pledged to pursue the expansion of Lacrosse as a tribute to our unselfish coaches who dedicated their personal time to enrich our lives and spread the game of Lacrosse across the New York City landscape.
Our mission statement is simple: Expanding the game of lacrosse in the NY City Public Schools system in order to provide fundamental team and leadership skills for our youths. We seek global partnerships with all similarly affiliated youth Lacrosse entities.
